The QEP 72000Q natural cork underlayment is available in a convenient 200 sq. ft. roll, providing an outstanding sound barrier for various flooring types, including ceramic and porcelain tile, stone, marble, and engineered hardwood and laminate floors. This product is made from natural cork sourced from Portugal, ensuring it is an environmentally friendly and healthy choice, as it is naturally hypoallergenic and contributes to improved indoor air quality. The underlayment offers sound and crack isolation, effectively reducing sound transmission both from the floor's surface and through the floor to adjacent living spaces. Additionally, natural cork enhances the performance of underfloor heating systems and serves as a crack isolation membrane that resists the transfer of stress cracks. Cork also has insect-repelling properties against pests, mites, and termites. It has a sound transmission loss test (STC) rating of 60 and an impact sound transmission test (IIC) rating of 61 when tested with a 6-inch cement slab and suspended ceiling.
