The Precision Brand 316 stainless steel shim is constructed from a soft (annealed) temper material, enhancing its corrosion resistance to most chemicals, salts, acids, and marine atmospheres due to the inclusion of 2.0 to 3.0% molybdenum. Its fabrication characteristics are comparable to type 302 and type 304 stainless steels. The shim measures 150mm in width, 1.25m in length, and has a thickness of 0.25mm. Type 316 stainless steel is widely utilized in various applications, including chemical and food processing equipment, photographic, pharmaceutical, marine, and textile finishing equipment. The Precision Brand® is notable for being the only manufacturer that offers Branded® shim, which is fully traceable and easy to identify, as it includes detailed markings for thickness, material type, and lot number printed directly on the shim.
