Precision Brand 316 stainless steel shim is made from a soft (annealed) temper material, providing excellent performance for various applications. Type 316 stainless steel features improved corrosion resistance to most chemicals, salts, acids, and marine atmospheres due to the inclusion of 2.0 to 3.0% molybdenum. The fabrication characteristics of type 316 are similar to those of type 302 and type 304 stainless steels. This shim measures 6 inches wide by 12 inches long by 0.007 inches thick, making it suitable for use in chemical and food processing equipment, photographic, pharmaceutical, marine, and textile finishing equipment. Precision Brand® is the sole manufacturer of Branded® shim, which is fully traceable and easily identifiable as it includes printed details such as thickness, material type, and lot number directly on the shim material.
