Precision Brand 316 stainless steel shim is made from a soft (annealed) temper material, offering enhanced corrosion resistance to most chemicals, salts, acids, and marine atmospheres due to an addition of 2.0 to 3.0% molybdenum. This shim features fabrication characteristics similar to Type 302 and Type 304 stainless steels and measures 6" wide by 100" long by 0.020" thick. Type 316 is commonly used in applications such as chemical and food processing equipment, photographic, pharmaceutical, marine, and textile finishing equipment. The Branded® shim provided by Precision Brand® is fully traceable and quickly identifiable, with the thickness, material type, and lot number printed directly on the shim material.
