Precision Brand 316 stainless steel shim is made from a soft (annealed) temper material, providing enhanced corrosion resistance to most chemicals, salts, acids, and marine atmospheres due to an addition of 2.0 to 3.0% molybdenum. The fabrication characteristics of type 316 are similar to type 302 and type 304. The shim measures 6" wide by 12" long by 0.010" thick and is extensively used in chemical and food processing equipment, as well as in photographic, pharmaceutical, marine, and textile finishing equipment. Precision Brand® is the only manufacturer to offer Branded® shim, which is fully traceable and quickly identifiable; thickness, material type, and lot number are printed directly on the shim material.
