The Steel Shim is made from full hard, cold rolled, low carbon 1008-1010 steel and is the only branded shim offered by Precision Brand®. Each shim is clearly marked with essential information, including material type, thickness, and lot number for full traceability. Designed for applications requiring hardness, flatness, and accuracy, this shim can be punched or sheared with minimal burring and distortion. It measures 8" wide by 12" long by 0.031" thick and is commonly used in tool and die setup, alignment, new machine assembly, machine repair and maintenance, motor and pump mounting, short run and prototype work, and various other industrial uses. This product is particularly advantageous for pilot production runs where material accuracy and cost-effectiveness are critical.
