FloodMaster's water heater leak alarm and automatic shut-off system is designed to minimize water damage caused by leaks from water heaters and tanks. The system includes a lead-free NSF372 valve that meets U.S. EPA safe drinking water standards, facilitating installation on the feed water line for the water tank. When the sensor, placed on the floor or near the pressure relief valve drain tube, detects water leakage, it automatically shuts off the feed water intake and activates an audible alarm. The entire system is constructed from corrosion-free materials and connects to a standard 120 VAC wall outlet. This reusable system allows for easy resets after addressing the leak, and it can also interface with a home security alarm system or appropriate relay. The closed-loop system effectively disables the cold water supply line to hot water tanks or similar applications, ensuring protection even when occupants are not present.
