The 4B+ horizontal mailboxes are U.S.P.S. approved exclusively for replacement and/or retrofit installations, and for new installations or renovations, the 4C horizontal mailboxes conforming to USPS-STD-4B+ specifications are recommended. These mailboxes are suitable for apartments, condominiums, commercial buildings, and residential developments, constructed entirely of aluminum with a durable powder-coated finish available in aluminum, bronze, gold, and sandstone. They feature "A" size doors measuring 6-1/2" W x 5-1/4" H and larger "B" size doors measuring 13" W x 5-1/4" H. Units with standard "A" size doors are offered in configurations of 3, 4, or 5 doors wide and 5, 6, or 7 doors high, while those with "B" size doors come in 2 doors wide and can be 5, 6, or 7 doors high. Each door is equipped with a 5 pin cylinder cam lock, including 2 keys, and one mailbox opening is required for a master postal lock, which is installed by the U.S.P.S. and not intended for mail distribution. The front-loading door panel swings on a continuous hinge and includes a factory-installed 3/4" W x 1/4" D trim along with a solid rear cover.
