The 4B+ horizontal mailboxes are U.S.P.S. approved specifically for replacement and/or retrofit installations, while new installations and renovations requiring a different location should utilize 4C horizontal mailboxes manufactured to USPS-STD-4B+ specifications. These mailboxes are ideal for use in apartments, condominiums, commercial buildings, and residential developments, and are constructed entirely of aluminum with a durable powder-coated finish available in aluminum, bronze, gold, and sandstone. The mailboxes feature "A" size doors measuring 6-1/2" W x 5-1/4" H and larger "B" size doors measuring 13" W x 5-1/4" H. Units with standard "A" size doors come in configurations of 3, 4, or 5 doors wide and 5, 6, or 7 doors high, while those with larger "B" size doors are available in 2 doors wide and 5, 6, or 7 doors high. Each door is equipped with a 5 pin cylinder cam lock and includes 2 keys. Note that one mailbox opening is necessary for a master postal lock, which is installed by the U.S.P.S. and is not for mail distribution. The front-loading door panel swings on a continuous hinge and includes a factory-installed trim measuring 3/4" W x 1/4" D along with a solid rear cover.
