The 4B+ horizontal mailboxes are U.S.P.S. approved exclusively for replacement and/or retrofit installations, while for new installations and renovations or for relocation, the 4C horizontal mailboxes should be referred to, which are manufactured to USPS-STD-4B+ specifications. These mailboxes are ideal for use in apartments, condominiums, commercial buildings, and residential developments and are constructed entirely of aluminum with a durable powder-coated finish available in aluminum, bronze, gold, and sandstone. The mailboxes are available with "A" size doors measuring 6-1/2" W x 5-1/4" H and larger "B" size doors measuring 13" W x 5-1/4" H. Units with standard "A" size doors can be configured with 3, 4, or 5 doors wide and 5, 6, or 7 doors high, while units with larger "B" size doors come in a configuration of 2 doors wide and 5, 6, or 7 doors high. Each door is equipped with a 5-pin cylinder cam lock, which includes 2 keys, and one mailbox opening is necessary for a master postal lock that is installed by the U.S.P.S. and cannot be used for mail distribution. The front-loading door panel swings on a continuous hinge and features factory-installed 3/4" W x 1/4" D trim and a solid rear cover.
