The 4B+ horizontal mailboxes are U.S.P.S. approved specifically for replacement and/or retrofit installations and are not intended for new installations or renovations; for such purposes, the 4C horizontal mailboxes that comply with USPS-STD-4B+ specifications should be considered. These mailboxes are suitable for various applications, such as apartments, condominiums, commercial buildings, and residential developments. Constructed entirely of aluminum, they feature a durable powder-coated finish that is available in aluminum, bronze, gold, and sandstone. The mailboxes are offered with "A" size doors measuring 6-1/2" W x 5-1/4" H and larger "B" size doors measuring 13" W x 5-1/4" H. Units with standard "A" size doors can be configured in 3, 4, or 5 doors wide and in heights of 5, 6, or 7 doors, while the larger "B" size doors are available in configurations of 2 doors wide and heights of 5, 6, or 7 doors. Each door is equipped with a 5 pin cylinder cam lock, complete with 2 keys. Additionally, the design includes a front-loading door panel that swings on a continuous hinge, along with factory-installed 3/4" W x 1/4" D trim and a solid rear cover. A mailbox opening is required for a master postal lock, which is installed by the U.S.P.S. and cannot be utilized for mail distribution.
