The Oz Lifting Carbon Steel Hand Winch with Brake has a 1000 lb. capacity and features a durable carbon steel construction with a safety yellow powder coating for a long-lasting finish. This hand winch offers an array of functional attributes including a compact design, ergonomic rubber handle, multiple frame mounting positions, fully enclosed gearing, solid machined gear, and an automatic weatherproof Weston brake. Additional key features include a dual cable anchor point, large diameter drum, high gear ratio, and each unit is accompanied by a test certificate and serial number. Note that wire rope is not included. The performance characteristics vary based on wire rope diameter: with 1/8" diameter wire rope, the first layer offers 7 ft. at a 1000 lb. capacity load rating, mid drum provides 74 ft. at a 750 lb. capacity load rating, and full drum can accommodate 140 ft. at a 500 lb. capacity load rating; with 3/16" diameter wire rope, the first layer allows for 5 ft. at a 1000 lb. capacity load rating, mid drum supports 34 ft. at a 750 lb. capacity load rating, and full drum has a capacity of 75 ft. at a 500 lb. capacity load rating. Actual drum capacities may be 25-30% less due to nonuniform winding, and wire rope tension will also affect drum capacity.
