Scotch-Brite™ SC Surface Conditioning Belt is a durable belt designed for detail work such as blending, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, and stainless steel finishing on various metals. These belts effectively remove coarse grindlines, mill marks, or small burrs left by cutting tools or conventional abrasives. Offered in multiple widths and lengths, they are compatible with various belt sanding tools suitable for both wood and metal applications. The selection includes wide belts for sanding large wood panels, medium-width belts for edge or portable sanders, and narrow belts for file tools in metalworking to access small areas or corners. The belts are manufactured using either silicon carbide, a sharp synthetic mineral ideal for low-pressure applications, or aluminum oxide, a hard mineral known for its high cut-rate and durability. While silicon carbide produces a finer finish, it breaks down more quickly than aluminum oxide.
