3M™ Cross Pad 341D measures 3" x 3" x 1" and features an aluminum oxide 80 grit abrasive. It is designed for close tolerance polishing of small radii and channels, as well as for deburring the ends and insides of tubing. The flexible cross shape allows it to conform to the diameter of the workpiece, making it an effective accessory for inside diameter finishing jobs. The pad features an X-weight cloth backing that supports both grinding and polishing applications, and it has a closed coat of aluminum oxide abrasive secured with a heat-resistant resin bond. To use, the cross pad attaches to a threaded mandrel (sold separately) that connects to a rotary tool such as a die grinder or drill, enabling efficient grinding or finishing of various-sized channels. Max RPM is dependent on the size of the pad, and the aluminum oxide abrasive is known for its fast cut-rate and long life, making it suitable for both woodworking and metalworking applications, including ferrous alloys. The resin bond provides a strong and stiff attachment, capable of withstanding high heat and pressure during heavy sanding. Key applications include blending, cleaning internal diameters, deburring, grinding, and polishing.
