The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc measures 3/4" in diameter and 1/16" thick with a 220 grit ceramic abrasive. It utilizes proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain embedded in molded, flexible bristles to provide more surface contact than wire brushes, maintaining its abrasive properties throughout the disc's life. Designed for fast operation, this disc effectively removes paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and surface contaminants from large areas. The flexible bristles remain securely in place under normal use, achieving the desired finish with light pressure. It is engineered to last longer than wire and other abrasive discs, suitable for use on aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other metals. Applications span across general industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, transportation, and automotive sectors. The ceramic aluminum oxide blend enhances toughness and hardness, designed to fracture frequently to outperform aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal and finishing in intense heat and stress conditions. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives feature a non-woven fiber matrix with integrated abrasives, providing consistent performance throughout product life, with an open-web design that runs cool and resists loading to maintain high cutting performance.
