The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc measures 3/4" in diameter by 1/16" thickness and features a proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain combined with molded, flexible bristles to provide more surface contact than wire brushes while maintaining abrasive properties throughout the disc's life. This fast-running disc effectively removes paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and surface contaminants from large areas and is designed to last longer than wire and other abrasive discs. It works well on various metals, including aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, and stainless steel, making it suitable for general industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, and transportation applications. The ceramic aluminum oxide blend used is engineered to enhance toughness and hardness, frequently fracturing to surpass aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making it ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal as well as finishing, handling intense heat and stress. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives incorporate abrasives into a non-woven fiber matrix, creating an abrasive system that offers consistent performance throughout the product's life; the open-web material runs cool and resists loading to maintain cutting efficiency. The disc is designed for applications such as adhesive removal, blending (including corners), cleaning (including internal diameters), coating removal, contour finishing, and deburring (including internal diameters). Under normal use, the flexible bristles remain secure and achieve the desired finish with light pressure. The product includes a warranty that covers defects in materials and workmanship.
