The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc measures 1" x 1/8" and features a 36 grit ceramic abrasive grain incorporated into molded, flexible bristles that provide greater surface contact than wire brushes while maintaining abrasive properties throughout the disc's life. This fast-running disc is designed for effective removal of paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and surface contaminants from large areas and is suitable for use on aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other metals. It is intended for general industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, transportation, and automotive applications. The proprietary ceramic aluminum oxide blend enhances the toughness and hardness of the abrasive grain, delivering superior cut-rate and durability compared to standard aluminum oxide abrasives. This ceramic abrasive is engineered to fracture frequently, making it ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and finishing tasks, while resisting heat and stress. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives combine abrasives and a non-woven fiber matrix to produce a surface conditioning product that runs cool, resists loading, and maintains consistent cutting performance. The open-web design limits clogging and ensures high performance of abrasive minerals over the life of the disc. Typical applications include adhesive removal, blending (including corners and internal diameters), cleaning, coating removal, contour finishing, deburring (including internal diameters), fine finishing, and general finishing.
