The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Radial Bristle Disc measures 1" x 1/8" and features a 50 grit ceramic abrasive grain embedded in molded, flexible bristles, providing greater surface contact than wire brushes while maintaining abrasive properties throughout the life of the disc. This fast-running disc is designed for removing paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and surface contaminants from large areas using light pressure. It is engineered to last longer than wire and other abrasive discs and is suitable for use on aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other metals. The disc is ideal for industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, and transportation applications. It utilizes a proprietary 3M™ ceramic aluminum oxide blend that enhances grit toughness and hardness, designed to frequently fracture for superior cut-rate and durability compared to standard aluminum oxide abrasives. This ceramic abrasive is capable of moderate to heavy stock removal as well as finishing, and it withstands intense heat and stress. The Scotch-Brite™ abrasive system incorporates the abrasive grains into a non-woven fiber matrix, resulting in an open-web design that runs cool, resists loading, and maintains high cutting performance by limiting clogging. Typical applications include adhesive removal, blending (including corners), cleaning, cleaning internal diameters, coating removal, contour finishing, deburring (including internal diameters), fine finishing, and general finishing tasks. The product comes with a warranty covering defects in material or workmanship under normal use.
