The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc measures 1" x 1/8" with an 80 grit ceramic abrasive designed for surface conditioning and abrasive removal. It features proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain embedded within molded, flexible bristles that maintain abrasive properties throughout the disc's life, providing more surface contact than wire brushes. The disc effectively removes paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and other surface contaminants from large areas using light pressure. It is designed to last longer than wire and other abrasive discs and is suitable for use on aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other metals. The disc is used in general industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, transportation, and automotive applications. Its 3M™ ceramic aluminum oxide blend features a proprietary process that enhances toughness and hardness, delivering higher performance with frequent fracturing and superior cut-rate and durability compared to aluminum oxide abrasives. These ceramic abrasives provide fast cutting and heat resistance for moderate to heavy stock removal and finishing. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives combine abrasive minerals with a non-woven fiber matrix, creating an abrasive system that delivers consistent performance, runs cool, and resists loading and clogging to maintain high cutting performance. Typical applications include adhesive removal, blending, blending corners, cleaning and internal diameter cleaning, coating removal, contour finishing, deburring and deburring internal diameters, fine finishing, and finishing.
