The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc measures 9/16" in diameter and 1/16" in thickness with a ceramic P220 grit. It features proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain embedded in molded, flexible bristles that provide more surface contact than wire brushes, maintaining abrasive properties throughout the disc's life. Designed for fast running, it efficiently removes paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and surface contaminants from large areas. The flexible bristles remain securely in place under normal use and achieve desired finishes with light pressure. The disc is engineered to last longer than wire and other abrasive discs and is compatible with aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other metals. It is suitable for general industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, and transportation applications. The ceramic aluminum oxide blend abrasive grain used is developed through a proprietary process to enhance toughness and hardness, delivering superior cut rate and durability compared to standard aluminum oxide abrasives, making it ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and finishing while handling heat and stress. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives incorporate abrasives into a non-woven fiber matrix, creating an abrasive system that ensures consistent performance through its life. The open-web material resists clogging and runs cool, maintaining high cutting performance. Typical applications include adhesive removal, blending and contour finishing of corners and internal diameters, cleaning, coating removal, and deburring internal diameters, fine finishing, and general surface conditioning.
