The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc features thin, flexible bristles measuring 2 inches in diameter by 3/8 inch thickness, with an 80 grit ceramic abrasive surface made from a proprietary ceramic aluminum oxide blend designed for enhanced toughness and hardness. This disc offers greater surface contact than wire brushes and maintains its abrasive properties throughout its lifespan, effectively removing paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and surface contaminants on large areas. Its flexible bristles remain securely in place under normal use, allowing for desired finishing with light pressure. The disc is durable and suitable for use on aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other metals across industries such as industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, and transportation. The ceramic aluminum oxide blend is engineered to fracture frequently, delivering superior cut rate and durability compared to traditional aluminum oxide abrasives, making it ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and finishing while handling intense heat and stress. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives combine abrasives incorporated into a non-woven fiber matrix, creating an open-web material that resists load and clogging, runs cool, and ensures consistent cutting performance. Applications include adhesive removal, blending (including corners), cleaning (including internal diameters), coating removal, contour finishing, deburring (including internal diameters), and fine finishing.
