The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc thin bristle measures 2" x 3/8" and features a ceramic 400 grit abrasive. This disc uses proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and molded flexible bristles, providing more surface contact than wire brushes while maintaining abrasive properties throughout its lifespan. It is designed to remove paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and other surface contaminants from large areas. The flexible bristles remain securely in place under normal use, enabling the desired finish with light pressure. The disc is built to last longer than wire and other abrasive discs and is suitable for use on metals such as aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, and stainless steel. It serves various industries including general industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, and transportation. The ceramic aluminum oxide blend, a ceramic mineral engineered through a proprietary process, enhances the toughness and hardness of the abrasive grain, delivering higher performance by fracturing frequently and exceeding aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability. This makes the disc ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and finishing, capable of handling intense heat and stress. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives incorporate abrasives into a non-woven fiber matrix, creating a surface conditioning product that delivers consistent results over its life. The open-web material runs cool and resists loading, maintaining cutting performance by limiting clogging of fibers. Typical applications include adhesive removal, blending (including corners), cleaning (including internal diameters), coating removal, contour finishing, and deburring (including internal diameters), as well as fine finishing.
