The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc thin bristle measures 2" x 3/8" and features proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain combined with molded, flexible bristles that provide more surface contact than wire brushes while maintaining abrasive properties throughout the disc's life. This fast-running disc effectively removes paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and surface contaminants from large areas. Under normal use, the flexible bristles remain securely in place, achieving the desired finish with light pressure. The disc is designed to last longer than wire and other abrasive discs and is suitable for aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other metals, making it ideal for general industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, and transportation applications. It incorporates a 3M™ ceramic aluminum oxide blend, a ceramic mineral created through a proprietary process to enhance grain toughness and hardness, providing superior cut-rate and durability compared to aluminum oxide abrasives. The ceramic abrasive is engineered to fracture frequently, enabling moderate to heavy stock removal and finishing, while withstanding intense heat and stress. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives are unique surface conditioning products made by embedding abrasives into a non-woven fiber matrix, which delivers consistent performance by maintaining abrasive cutting ability through its open-web, load-resistant, and cool-running material. This system resists clogging, ensuring prolonged high-performance cutting. The disc is certified and compliant with industry standards, suitable for applications including adhesive removal, blending, blending corners, cleaning, cleaning internal diameters, coating removal, contour finishing, deburring, and internal diameter deburring.
