The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc features a thin bristle design measuring 2" x 3/8" and uses proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain with a 6 micron grit. The disc incorporates molded, flexible bristles providing more surface contact than wire brushes while maintaining abrasive properties throughout its life. It is designed for fast removal of paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and surface contaminants over large areas. Under normal use, the flexible bristles remain safely in place and can achieve the desired finish using light pressure. The disc is durable, outperforming wire and other abrasive discs, and is suitable for use on aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other metals. It is applicable in general industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, and transportation settings. The ceramic aluminum oxide blend used in the disc is engineered for toughness and hardness, frequently fracturing to maintain cutting efficiency, and surpasses standard aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability. This blend is ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal as well as finishing and can handle intense heat and stress applications. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives are composed of abrasives embedded in a non-woven fiber matrix, which creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the product's lifespan. The open-web material resists loading and runs cool, helping maintain high-performance cutting by limiting clogging of the fibers.
