The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc thin bristle 2" x 3/8" ceramic 1 micron grit features proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain and molded, flexible bristles that provide more surface contact than wire brushes while maintaining abrasive properties throughout the disc’s life. Designed for paint, stain, adhesive, weld burn, rust, heavy oxide, and surface contaminant removal from large areas, the disc performs well on aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other metals, suitable for general industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, and transportation applications. The disc uses a ceramic aluminum oxide blend engineered to fracture frequently, surpassing aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability, making it ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal and finishing while handling intense heat and stress. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives incorporate abrasives into a non-woven fiber matrix that creates a load-resistant, open-web material running cool to maintain high performance by limiting clogging. The 2-inch diameter by 3/8-inch thickness disc contains 1-micron ceramic grit, providing fine finishing capabilities. Under normal use, the flexible bristles remain safely in place and achieve the desired finish with light pressure, and the product is designed to last longer than wire and other abrasive discs.
