The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc thin bristle measures 3 inches in diameter by 3/8 inch thickness and features a 400 grit ceramic abrasive. It utilizes proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain combined with molded, flexible bristles that provide increased surface contact compared to wire brushes and maintain abrasive properties throughout the disc's life. This fast-running disc is suitable for removing paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and surface contaminants from large areas. Under normal use, the flexible bristles remain securely in place, allowing users to achieve the desired finish with light pressure. The disc is designed to last longer than wire and other abrasive discs and is compatible with materials such as aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, and stainless steel, making it ideal for industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, and transportation applications. The abrasive consists of a ceramic aluminum oxide blend engineered to enhance toughness, hardness, and durability while fracturing frequently to provide superior cut-rate and longevity, suitable for moderate to heavy stock removal and finishing under intense heat and stress. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives incorporate abrasive grains within a non-woven fiber matrix, creating an open-web material that runs cool, resists loading, and maintains high cutting performance by preventing clogging. This product is used for adhesive removal, blending (including corners and internal diameters), cleaning, coating removal, contour finishing, and deburring (including internal diameters).
