The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc thin bristle measures 3" x 3/8" and features proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain combined with molded, flexible bristles, providing more surface contact than wire brushes and maintaining abrasive properties throughout the disc's life. This fast-running disc is designed for removing paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and surface contaminants from large areas using light pressure, with the flexible bristles remaining securely in place under normal use. It is durable, lasting longer than wire and other abrasive discs, and suitable for use on aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other metals. Typical applications include general industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, and transportation sectors. The disc utilizes a 3M™ ceramic aluminum oxide blend, a ceramic mineral engineered for enhanced toughness and hardness through a proprietary process, enabling frequent fracturing for superior cut-rate and durability compared to traditional aluminum oxide abrasives. This makes it ideal for moderate to heavy stock removal as well as finishing, handling intense heat and stress. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives incorporate abrasive minerals into a non-woven fiber matrix, creating an abrasive system that consistently performs throughout the product’s life by limiting clogging and running cool. Its open-web material design provides load resistance and high-performance cutting. The disc is especially effective for adhesive removal, blending (including corners), cleaning, cleaning internal diameters, coating removal, contour finishing, and deburring (including internal diameters).
