The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ radial bristle disc measures 3 inches in diameter by 3/8 inch in thickness and features a ceramic 360 grit abrasive made with proprietary 3M™ ceramic abrasive grain embedded in molded, flexible bristles that provide greater surface contact than wire brushes while maintaining abrasive properties throughout the life of the disc. This fast-running disc is designed for removing paint, stains, adhesives, weld burns, rust, heavy oxides, and surface contaminants from large areas. Its flexible bristles remain securely in place under normal use, achieving the desired finish with light pressure. The disc is engineered to last longer than wire and other abrasive discs and is suitable for use on aluminum, brass, bronze, carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and other metals across general industrial, aerospace, automotive, metalworking, and transportation applications. The ceramic aluminum oxide blend abrasive used is a ceramic mineral specially formulated to enhance grain toughness and hardness, offering superior cut-rate and durability by fracturing frequently, outperforming traditional aluminum oxide abrasives, and excelling in moderate to heavy stock removal as well as finishing tasks, while enduring intense heat and stress. Scotch-Brite™ abrasives incorporate abrasive minerals into a non-woven fiber matrix that provides a consistent abrasive system with an open-web structure that runs cool, resists loading, and maintains high cutting performance by limiting fiber clogging. Applications include adhesive removal, blending, blending corners, cleaning internal diameters, coating removal, contour finishing, deburring internal diameters, fine finishing, and general finishing.
