The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ cut and polish flap brush measures 12" x 2" x 5" and features medium grit aluminum oxide. It is made using proprietary 3M non-woven materials technology with an open web construction designed to reduce loading and maintain effective cutting action longer, resulting in less frequent replacement compared to conventional brushes. The nonwoven construction combines fiber strands, resin, and abrasive mineral to form a thick, open web with spring-like fibers that conform to contours, effectively removing unwanted burrs, soils, and contaminants while preserving the geometry of the work piece to reduce rework. The open web allows swarf to escape, preventing clogging, and fibers continually break down during use to expose fresh abrasive mineral, providing exceptional consistency, superior cut performance, and an extremely long service life. This brush enhances productivity and operator safety by minimizing the need for cleaning chemicals and replacing wire brushes that may break off. It is suitable for applications such as blending, contour finishing, polishing, radiusing, and refining metal fabrication, primarily used in the metal fabrication industry.
