The 3M™ flap wheel type 84 244D measures 1" x 1" x 1/4-20 external and features 60 grit aluminum oxide abrasive on a firm x-weight cloth backing. It is designed as a general-purpose flap wheel that delivers a consistent finish and uniform cut, suitable for a variety of grinding and polishing applications. The aluminum oxide abrasive provides a fast cut-rate, long life, and self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, making it tougher and more durable than traditional natural abrasives. The flap wheel is resin bonded for heat resistance and includes a straight spindle mount for easy attachment, compatible with bench motors, die grinders, and inline sanders. Typical applications include blending, descaling, refining, and setting the grain, primarily in the metal fabrication industry.
