The 3M™ flap wheel type 83 244D measures 1-1/2" x 1/2" x 1/4" with 60 grit aluminum oxide abrasive. This general-purpose flap wheel features aluminum oxide on a firm, X-weight cloth backing and is resin bonded for heat resistance, providing a fast cut-rate and long life. It is designed for use in grinding, sanding, and finishing applications, delivering consistent finish and uniform cut. The abrasive self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, maintaining effectiveness longer than traditional natural abrasives. The flap wheel has a straight spindle mount for easy attachment to bench motors, die grinders, and inline sanders. Typical applications include blending, descaling, refining, and setting the grain, primarily in metal fabrication industries.
