The 3M™ Flap Wheel Type 83 244D measures 2" x 1" x 1/4" and features 80 grit aluminum oxide abrasive on a firm X-weight cloth backing. This general-purpose flap wheel delivers a consistent finish and uniform cut, making it suitable for various grinding and polishing applications including blending, descaling, refining, and setting the grain. The aluminum oxide abrasive is known for its fast cut rate, long life, and durability, as it self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, outperforming traditional natural abrasives. The flap wheel is resin bonded for heat resistance and includes a straight spindle mount for easy attachment to bench motors, die grinders, and inline sanders.
