The Thermo Scientific™ Cimarec™ Biosystem slow-speed stirrer is designed for stirring thermally sensitive cultures such as microcarrier cultures, culture broths, and cell suspensions, ensuring gentle stirring and low heat output to protect sensitive cell cultures within CO2 incubators. The stirrer features hermetically sealed housing that resists microorganisms while an external controller keeps only the hermetically sealed stirrer exposed to the CO2 environment. It operates without generating heat, thereby preserving the incubator chamber conditions for thermal sensitive cell culture, and is constructed with easy-to-clean stainless steel that resists aggressive media. The gradually low-shear acceleration on start-up allows for smooth and even stirring at speeds as low as 5 RPM, with single position stirrers capable of stirring up to 20L and four-position stirrers stirring up to 5L per position. Operating conditions range from -10° to +56°C at 100% relative humidity, and the device has a protection class rating of IP 68. The system requires a Biomodul 40 B control unit, which is sold separately, and it is important to note that shipments will not be made to residential addresses.
