The Thermo Scientific™ RT2 Digital Hotplate is designed for safety and accuracy, featuring precise digital control with a 0.1°C resolution and a maximum temperature of 350°C. It boasts a fast heat-up time and superior heat transfer due to its integrated heater and ceramic-coated aluminum alloy top plate, ensuring excellent temperature uniformity and corrosion resistance, which also allows for optimal monitoring of color changes in samples or media. The device includes microprocessor PID control, a digital LED display that allows simultaneous viewing of current and set temperatures, and a heating rate adjustable from 0 to 100% in 1% increments. Users can select temperature units in either Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F) and utilize a programmable timer that can start immediately, count down, or trigger when the top plate reaches the desired set point. Additional features include a lockable keypad for security, two threaded holes for support rods, and safety measures such as a hot top warning indicator, automatic over-temperature shut off, and a detachable power cord. The top plate has a diameter of 140 mm / 5.5 inches, is made of ceramic-coated aluminum, can support a maximum load of 25 kg / 55.1 lb, and optionally comes with a transparent shield for user protection against splashes.
