The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Cut and Polish Unitized Wheel CP-UW measures 2" x 1/4" x 1/4" and is made with aluminum oxide in a medium density. This tightly layered, durable unitized wheel is designed for aggressive deburring, blending, and finishing on harder metals and is suitable for applications where portability is important. It serves as an excellent replacement for traditional abrasive products such as rubber bonded wheels and small set-up wheels. The wheel’s construction involves aluminum oxide abrasive mineral combined with a tough nylon web, producing a smooth-running, fast-cutting wheel that operates cool and resists loading. Aluminum oxide, chosen for its high cut rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, is a tough abrasive that self-fractures to maintain fresh cutting edges and is suitable for use on a wide range of substrates, including ferrous alloys in woodworking and metalworking. The Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives utilize an open-web, non-woven nylon or synthetic fiber material embedded with abrasives, which maintains consistent results throughout the product’s life by running cool and limiting clogging. The product complies with relevant industrial standards for abrasive tools and carries a warranty as specified by 3M for industrial abrasives.
