The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Metal Finishing Wheel MF-WL measures 8" x 3" x 2" and features an aluminum oxide abrasive in a medium grade, designed to combine conformability with consistent abrasive cutting action to provide uniform brushed stainless and satin finishes. It is effective for blending and matching #3 or #4 mill finishes on stainless steel as well as creating brushed or satin finishes on products such as cutlery, appliance trim, builders hardware, and plumbing fixtures. On softer metals like aluminum, copper, and brass, it blends out minor surface imperfections and handling marks while delivering decorative finishes. Typically used on stationary machinery, these convolutedly wound wheels are available in diameters from 6 to 16 inches and widths of 1/2 inch and greater, running smoothly to help achieve professional results. The aluminum oxide abrasive is selected for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it suitable for a variety of substrates in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives combine abrasives with non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers to create an abrasive system that maintains consistent performance and resists loading by using an open-web material that runs cool. Typical applications include blending, finishing, polishing, producing straightline brushed finishes, and weld cleaning. The product comes with warranty terms as provided by 3M.
