The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ metal finishing wheel MF-WL measures 8" x 3" x 2" and features aluminum oxide medium abrasive. This wheel combines conformability with consistent abrasive cutting action to provide uniform brushed stainless and satin finishes, effectively blending and matching #3 or #4 mill finishes on stainless steel and creating decorative finishes on cutlery, appliance trim, builders hardware, and plumbing fixtures. On softer metals like aluminum, copper, and brass, it blends out minor surface imperfections and handling marks. Typically used on stationary machinery, these wheels are available in diameters ranging from 6 to 16 inches and widths of 1/2 inch and greater. The wheel is convolutedly wound on a core to run smoothly for professional finishing results and is available in grade CRS and MED. The aluminum oxide abrasive is known for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it suitable for grinding, sanding, and finishing applications on a wide variety of substrates including ferrous alloys. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives incorporate abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating a surface conditioning product that delivers consistent results through an open-web material designed to run cool and resist loading, maintaining high performance by limiting clogging of fibers.
