The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Metal Finishing Wheel MF-WL measures 6" x 1" x 1" and features aluminum oxide abrasive with a medium grade, designed to combine conformability and consistent abrasive cutting action for uniform brushed stainless and satin finishes. This wheel is effective for blending and matching #3 or #4 mill finishes on stainless steel as well as creating brushed or satin finishes on cutlery, appliance trim, builders hardware, and plumbing fixtures. On softer metals like aluminum, copper, and brass, it blends out minor surface imperfections and handling marks while providing decorative finishes. Typically used on stationary machinery, it is available in diameters from 6 to 16 inches and widths starting at 1/2 inch. The highly conformable wheel is convolutedly wound on a core to run smoothly and produce professional finishing results. Aluminum oxide abrasive offers a high cut rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it suitable for a broad range of substrates in woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives utilize abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating an abrasive system that delivers consistent performance throughout the product’s life. The open-web material resists loading, runs cool, and maintains high abrasive efficiency by limiting fiber clogging.
