The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Metal Finishing Wheel MF-WL measures 12" in diameter, 5" in width, and has a 2" arbor hole, featuring an aluminum oxide abrasive with a medium grade (MED). This wheel combines conformability with consistent abrasive cutting action to provide uniform brushed stainless and satin finishes, effectively blending and matching #3 or #4 mill finishes on stainless steel and creating brushed or satin finishes on products such as cutlery, appliance trim, builders hardware, and plumbing fixtures. On softer metals like aluminum, copper, and brass, it blends out minor surface imperfections and handling marks while delivering decorative finishes. The wheel is convolutedly wound on a core for smooth running and professional results and is typically used on stationary machinery. Its aluminum oxide abrasive is chosen for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, making it suitable for a variety of woodworking and metalworking substrates, including ferrous alloys.
