The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EXL unitized wheel XL-UW measures 3" x 1/4" x 1/8" and is made with silicon carbide abrasive minerals embedded in non-woven nylon fibers, providing a soft, conformable consistency ideal for smoothing, deburring, and finishing edges of metal alloys, plastics, and composites. The wheel is available in various densities from very soft (2 density) to aggressive (8 density) for maximum cut and durability, offering aluminum oxide abrasives in fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse grades, and silicon carbide in very fine and fine grades. Designed for use with a die grinder, it minimizes heat buildup on heat-sensitive materials and delivers a clean edge without smearing, reducing the need for further cleanup and preparation. The open-web, load-resistant material limits clogging and maintains high abrasive performance consistently throughout the product’s life. This product is suitable for applications such as blending and deburring across industries including builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
