The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Disc measures 6 inches and features a nh vfn grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral. It combines conformable material with abrasive mineral to blend, clean, and polish a wide variety of surfaces including aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, wood, and fiberglass, producing a clean, consistent finish without undercutting or damaging the base material. The flexible disc is designed to reach hard-to-access areas and is suitable for finishing, paint preparation, surface blending, scuffing, contour finishing, and lacquer sanding. It effectively conditions metals, composites, and advanced surfaces, providing paint preparation, scuffing, and light corrosion removal. The disc runs cool and resists loading, maintaining consistent conditioning properties throughout its life. Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Finish Discs are manufactured with different abrasive minerals—silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or talc—each suited to different applications: silicon carbide is a sharp synthetic mineral ideal for low-pressure tasks like paint prep and finishing, aluminum oxide is a hard, blocky mineral delivering high cut-rate and long life with a coarser finish, while talc is a mild abrasive used to achieve satin finishes or high gloss when combined with polish. The discs incorporate abrasives within non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, forming an abrasive system known for consistent results and durability.
