The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ High Strength Disc measures 8" x 1/4" with a VFN grit aluminum oxide abrasive and is designed as a general-purpose disc made from a durable, tough non-woven open-web nylon fiber construction that resists loading and runs cool, maintaining consistent abrasive performance throughout the disc’s life. The conformable disc effectively cleans, deburrs, denibs/defuzzes, and achieves satin finishes on irregular surfaces and tight areas without damaging the base material. It can be used individually or stacked on straight shaft tools or bench motors for conditioning larger areas such as bar grates, louvers, vents, and tracks. The abrasive is incorporated into the non-woven nylon fibers, creating a consistent abrasive system with load resistance and clog reduction. Applications include cleaning, coating removal, contour finishing, deburring, finishing, and weld cleaning, suitable for industries including aerospace, general industrial, metalworking, MRO, and transportation & heavy equipment.
