The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Flap Disc 967A is a 4-1/2" x 7/8" disc featuring 60 grit ceramic grain type 29 construction, designed for low to medium-high pressure applications on flat surfaces and edgework, making it particularly effective for paint prep and stainless steel fabrication where a fine finish and gouge resistance are critical. The disc is equipped with 3M Precision Shaped Grain technology, which maintains super-sharp points that cut swiftly with less pressure while running cooler, thereby reducing metal discoloration and the risk of heat-related stress cracks. The flaps are engineered to grind and blend in a single step. A durable Y-weight poly-cotton backing ensures controlled and even wear, maximizing the disc's lifespan during use. Additionally, a grinding aid is incorporated to minimize temperatures during grinding, making it suitable for heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, titanium, and nickel alloys. Common applications for this flap disc include edge beveling, edge chamfering, right angle grinding, and weld removal and finishing.
