The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ Clean and Strip Unitized Wheel measures 6" x 1" x 5/8" and features an extra coarse silicon carbide abrasive mineral designed for aggressive coating removal, cleaning welds, and removing rust, paint, and coatings. This hard, open-web wheel has a layered, durable construction with a density of 7, providing low conformability suitable for use with portable tools and die grinders to access tight or confined areas. The synthetic web combined with the sharp silicon carbide mineral effectively removes scale, surface contaminants, weld discoloration, and splatter while producing a smooth-running, load-resistant wheel. The abrasive system integrates abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, ensuring consistent results throughout the product’s life. The open-web design runs cool and limits clogging, maintaining high cutting performance.
