The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ cut and polish unitized wheel measures 1" x 1" x 3/16" and features a fine grit aluminum oxide abrasive mineral. This tightly layered, durable wheel is available in medium to hard densities and is designed for aggressive deburring, blending, and finishing on harder metals, particularly when portability is required. It serves as a replacement for many conventional abrasive products such as rubber bonded wheels and small set-up wheels. The aluminum oxide mineral combined with a tough nylon web produces uniform results through a smooth running, fast cutting wheel that runs cool and resists loading. Aluminum oxide is chosen for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, long life, and low heat retention, suitable for a wide range of substrates including ferrous alloys in both woodworking and metalworking applications. The Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives incorporate abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating an abrasive system that maintains consistent performance throughout the product's life. The open-web material aids in cool running and load resistance, limiting clogging and sustaining high abrasive performance.
