The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ EX2 deburring wheel measures 6" x 1/2" x 1" with a FIN 9S grit silicon carbide abrasive and is constructed in a convolute design for mid-range aggressiveness and hardness, suitable for deburring, edge radius, blending, polishing, and finishing tasks. This wheel features a high-performance combination of mineral aggressiveness and density hardness, balanced for moderate conformability, wheel hardness, and edge retention. It is made with a unique resin system that minimizes smearing and reduces heat build-up, enabling the wheel to run cool and resist loading due to its open-web construction which reduces the risk of part discoloration and warping while extending wheel life. The EX2 wheel is offered in fine and medium grade abrasives and comes with options for silicon carbide or aluminum oxide abrasive minerals; silicon carbide, a sharp synthetic mineral, is ideal for low-pressure applications like paint prep and finishing where a finer finish is required, while aluminum oxide provides a higher cut rate and longer life but breaks down slower. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives incorporate abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the product's life, with an open-web material that remains cool and resists loading to maintain high cutting performance by preventing fiber clogging. This deburring wheel is applicable for blending, deburring, finishing, flat finishing, and polishing applications across builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, and plumbing industries.
