The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ metal finishing wheel measures 6" x 2" x 1" and features CRS 4A grit aluminum oxide abrasives. It combines conformability with consistent abrasive cutting action to provide uniform brushed stainless and satin finishes, effectively blending and matching #3 or #4 mill finishes on stainless steel and creating brushed or satin finishes on items such as cutlery, appliance trim, builders hardware, and plumbing fixtures. On softer metals like aluminum, copper, and brass, the wheel blends out minor surface imperfections and handling marks while delivering desired decorative finishes. Typically used on stationary machinery, these wheels are available in diameters from 6 to 16 inches and widths starting at 1/2 inch. The highly conformable wheel is convolutedly wound on a core to ensure smooth running and professional finishing results, available in grades CRS and Med. It utilizes aluminum oxide abrasive due to its high cut rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, suitable for various substrates including ferrous alloys. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives are made by incorporating abrasives into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the product's life. The open-web material runs cool and is load resistant, limiting clogging of fibers and maintaining high abrasive performance. Applications include blending, finishing, polishing, straight-line brushed finishes, and weld cleaning. The product complies with industry standards and comes with the manufacturer's warranty terms.
