3M™ Cubitron™ II Flap Disc 967A is a 4-1/2" x 7/8" disc featuring a 60 grit ceramic grain and is designed for low to medium-high pressure applications on flat surfaces and outside edgework. It is particularly effective in paint preparation and stainless steel fabrication, where both a final finish and gouge resistance are critical. This flap disc utilizes 3M’s precision shaped grain technology, which maintains sharp points that cut fast and require less pressure, resulting in cooler operation that minimizes metal discoloration and the risk of heat-related stress cracks. The flaps are engineered to grind and blend in a single step, while the durable Y-weight poly-cotton backing ensures controlled, even wear, optimizing disc use in appropriate pressure applications. Additionally, a grinding aid is incorporated to reduce temperatures during grinding, making it suitable for heat-sensitive alloys such as stainless steel, titanium, and nickel alloys. The disc is specifically suited for applications including edge beveling, edge chamfering, right angle grinding, and weld removal and finishing.
