The Scotch-Brite™ light deburring wheel is a smooth running, convolute-constructed wheel designed for light deburring, polishing, and finishing applications. It features a soft construction that allows for easier operation compared to harder wheels, making it ideal for tasks requiring a moderate degree of conformability and density to maintain critical tolerances while achieving a fine polished finish. The unique resin system minimizes smearing and reduces heat build-up, ensuring the wheel runs cool and resists loading due to its non-woven web construction, which helps to prevent part discoloration and warping while prolonging the life of the wheel. Available in fine grade abrasive, the wheel uses fine grade silicon carbide abrasive, a synthetic mineral known for its sharpness and effectiveness in low-pressure applications such as paint preparation. Although it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish. Scotch-Brite™ industrial abrasives uniquely combine abrasives with non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers, creating an abrasive system that delivers consistent results throughout the life of the product. The open-web material runs cool and is load resistant, maintaining high cutting performance by limiting fiber clogging.
