The 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ light deburring wheel measures 8" x 1" x 3" with a fin 6s grit silicon carbide abrasive. It features a smooth running, convolute-constructed design made from soft construction and a unique resin system to minimize smearing and reduce heat build-up, providing a clean system for light deburring, polishing, and finishing. This fine grade wheel is constructed with an open-web, non-woven nylon fiber system that runs cool and resists loading, reducing the risk of part discoloration and warping while extending wheel life. The silicon carbide abrasive, a sharp synthetic mineral suited for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation, delivers a superior finish despite breaking down faster than aluminum oxide. The wheel offers a moderate degree of conformability and density to maintain critical tolerances and achieve a fine polished finish. It is designed for applications including deburring, finishing, and polishing in industries such as builders hardware, medical instruments, metal fabrication, metal implants, plumbing fixtures, and turbine engines.
